Lance Manufacturing has been making RVs for more than 40 years, and until recently was
known primarily for its quality pick-up campers. The 2011 2285 travel trailer is the latest
attempt to solidify the Lancaster, California-based manufacturer’s presence in the towable
market.

At 27 feet long, it’s the longest trailer Lance makes, but its relatively low dry weight of
4,160 pounds means it can be towed by most properly equipped mid-size tow vehicles. The
2285 features a “Super-slideout” that contains a large 54 x 78-inch u-shaped dinette, so
there’s plenty of room to invite your friends over for dinner. The galley offers a 6 cu-ft
refrigerator and three-burner range, so cooking that dinner should be a snap. To further
simplify the culinary duties, a microwave is available as an option. When it’s time to
retire for the evening, the guests can sleep on the standard sofa bed while you hit the hay
on the walkaround queen bed in the large master bedroom. The trailer’s two entry doors
allow access to either the bedroom or the living area, so all occupants can go about their
campground activities without waking the others in the early morning (or late at night).
Msrp starts at $22,620. For more information, visit www.lancecamper.com.
