The power-sliding side doors on General Motors’ minivans are the focus of a recall to be
performed by the company.
GM will recall 717,302 of its minivans because the power-sliding
side-door handles could injure a user’s hands or wrists. Included are the 1997-2005
Chevrolet Venture; the 1997-1999 Pontiac TranSport Montana; the 2000-2005 Pontiac Montana;
and the 1997-2004 Olds Silhouette.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has
recorded 21 complaints about the handles on the doors.
Parts will be available beginning in
March.
