Keystone's Laredo Creates New Fiver Category

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Northern Indiana-based Keystone RV believes that its Laredo line creates a new category of
fifth-wheels. The Laredo is a “midprofile” unit that can be pulled by a heavy-duty 1/2-ton
or a light-duty 3/4-ton pickup, said Bill Fenech, vice president and general manager of
Keystone’s Elkhart Division. The laminated fiberglass unit has aluminum side-wall framing
and full pass-through storage. A flush-floor superslide, which includes a sofa-sleeper and
dinette, is directly opposite the kitchen slide. Laredo units weigh approximately 8,900
pounds, but units without galley slides weigh in the upper 6,000- to low 7,000-pound range.
There are four floorplans available, and the Laredo comes in 25- or 27-foot lengths. The
27-foot model is priced at about $24,000.
