What It’s Like to Visit Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky

Crazy Family Adventure Gives Us a Look at Mammoth Cave National Park

When most people think of going to a national park, they think of mountains and expansive land that stretches for miles and miles. However, our great country’s national parks are diverse and you’ll see all sorts of things. A case in point is Mammoth Cave. This unique cave system is located in the heart of Kentucky and is a must-see for any family.

Recently, Craig and Bryanna of Crazy Family Adventure took their family of six to Mammoth Cave National Park and made a video of the experience, proving that even during the COVID-19 Pandemic, you can enjoy what the national parks system has to offer.

One of the best places to stop in Kentucky for RVers, Mammoth Cave is one of the largest cave systems in the entire world. There are over 400 miles of the cave system that has been explored so far. The areas accessible by visitors have been prepped and the park offers tours of these areas with plenty of guidance and educational materials.

The protocol for the park changed a bit due to the pandemic and it’s always going to be shifting and adjusting as the situation with the virus progresses. Because of this, you may need to utilize various resources like online tickets, webcams of certain areas, and any alert notifications posted to the park’s website. At the time of the video above, the cave was open to visitors, but changes do occur, and you’ll need to plan ahead and plan accordingly.

Outside the park, you’ll find plenty of other activities for you and your family to do, including hiking, canoeing, fishing, horseback riding, camping, and so much more. There are plenty of fantastic campgrounds around, too.

Crazy Family Adventure has been to Mammoth Cave before, but they wanted to see it again and recreate some memories while they’re there. That short video is showcased above. Craig jokes as they enter the cave that he should have worn his Batman mask (the ultimate dad joke), but despite the lack of his Batman mask, the family has a fantastic time at the cave.
