There was a time when the only way you could get a patio on an RV was to buy a toy hauler, which usually comes with a rear ramp that converts to a deck. But now, more and more rigs are coming with a built-in patio—and sometimes even two—giving owners a fun and unique way to enjoy the outdoors while camping. One such model is the new Coleman Legacy 2800SUNDECK, a fifth-wheel trailer that includes a foldout side patio, along with a host of other great features. And perhaps best of all, you don’t have to break the bank to own one.

The 2800SUNDECK is roughly 35′ in length and weighs about 9,000 lbs, which is fairly svelte for a fifth-wheel trailer. In fact, this model is the lightest and shortest fifth-wheel with a patio currently available. This has the added benefit of making it more accessible to a wider audience, with easier towing compared to much larger models. The RV isn’t lacking in size and space, however, as the interior is spacious, open, and well laid out. The primary bedroom is found at the front of the rig and comes with a residential king-size bed. Just adjacent to the sleeping area is the bathroom, which includes a porcelain toilet, sink, medicine cabinet, and a large shower.
Things get even more impressive as you move to the back of the trailer. There, you’ll find the shared living room and kitchen area, with plenty of features to make life on the road comfortable and fun. Those include theater seating, a bar top table, a coffee nook, a massive pantry, and washer/dryer prep. The kitchen comes with a three-burner stove, a large single-basin sink, a microwave/air fryer, and a residential-style refrigerator. Other highlights include a smart TV, fireplace, a desk, and plenty of onboard storage.

Of course, the signature feature for this model is the impressive sundeck, which is located just outside the kitchen/living room area. The patio folds out from the side of the trailer, creating an elevated outdoor space that sits under the RV’s awning. Access is granted by a sliding door, and an outdoor TV provides entertainment. And when you’re ready to hit the road, the entire deck folds up quickly and efficiently.
The video above, which comes our way via the Keystone YouTube channel, gives us a full tour of this impressive rig. Keystone manufactures the Coleman line, bringing excellent build quality and solid design to a brand that has suffered in those areas in the past. Now, you get a premium fifth-wheel experience at an affordable price, with the Coleman Legacy 2800SUNDECK starting at below $60,000.
