Thor Unveils Class B Van, Tranquility
Thor Motor Coach will unveil a new mid-model year version of the Tranquility Class B Van, as reported by RV News.
Built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 chassis with a 4×4 platform and optional all-terrain tires, the six-cylinder diesel engine provides 188 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. A 3,500-pound hitch provides towing capabilities.
The 19-foot-long motorhome features two floorplans, including the 19P with rear bench-style seating and seat belts for three that electronically unfolds into a sleeping area. The 19L features an enclosed wet bath, a large kitchen, and forward seating. A Froli sleep system adds large pull-out side trays in the rear sleeping area.
A telescoping ladder stores between the driver’s seat and wet bath or under the bed. A bike rack on the rear carries up to two adult-sized bicycles, and pull-down window shades provide needed privacy.
Safety features include:
- A top-mounted LED light bar with cover
- Keyless entry
- A backup monitor and adaptive cruise control
- 10.25-inch MBUX multimedia screen integrated with the tilt and telescoping steering wheel’s control buttons
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
An exterior table folds out underneath the Thule-powered patio awning. A JBL Flip speaker, portable or wall-mounted, connects via Bluetooth to a device or smartphone.
Models include those with off-grid capability with options like a 190-watt solar panel, a 400-amp-hour lithium battery and a Balmar 170-amp alternator.
Tranquility is backed by a 2-year limited warranty.
