Travel Trailer Review: The Gulf Stream Enlighten

A great introductory rig for those just dipping their toes into RV living, while still delivering some little luxuries throughout.

More and more people are getting the itch to travel and explore. And, they’re finding there’s no better way to do it than in an RV. But, dipping your toe into RV life can be a bit intimidating. Some rigs span 45 feet with multiple rooms and a learning curve that can be as difficult to get around as actual bends in the roads and mountain passes.

That’s why Tiffany Remington of Us The Remington’s is here to review a great entry-level camper: The Gulf Stream Enlighten. This bunkhouse travel trailer is a great introductory rig for anyone – couples, small families, individuals – trying on the RV life or who just needs the basic, with a little bit of comfort and convenience here and there.

Kitchen

Tiffany begins her review in the heart of any home and camper – the kitchen. The kitchen features an L-shaped counter with a lightweight sink and dual hose faucet. There’s plenty of storage within reach with a two-door cabinet. A microwave and three-burner stovetop with an oven give you everything you need for preparing on-the-go meals or sit-down feasts.

Plus, the spacious fridge/freezer has plenty of room for leftovers! Just next to the fridge is a spacious storage pantry. Use it for canned goods and non-perishables, clothes, and shoes, whatever you need for your weekend adventure or weeks-long excursion!

Bathroom

Next up, Tiffany takes us into the bathroom. And, she’s quick to point out the Gulf Stream Enlighten has a tub! This is not common among travel trailers and RVs. It’s a great little luxury if you’re traveling with a dog or young kiddos who haven’t yet mastered a stand-up shower routine of their own. Another great benefit of the bathroom—a second entrance!

This makes quick bathroom breaks all the more quick and convenient when out exploring! And, of course, this bathroom has storage with a medicine cabinet and under-sink storage space.

Sleeping Space

After talking sink, shower, tub Tiffany head’s to space just off the bathroom—the sleeping space! The Enlighten Gulf has a double bunk sleep space – enough space for two children on each bunk or one adult. The dinette space also folds down into a sleep space as does the spacious sofa couch. So, adding it all up, Tiffany estimates enough room for five adults to snooze!

Entertainment

By day, the sofa couch functions as a main component of the entertainment space. Equipped with a soundbar and enough room for a TV nearing 50”, you’ll be able to catch all your must-see entertainment on the road.

Bedroom

Tiffany wraps up her tour of the Gulf Stream Enlighten in the master bedroom. The bedroom features a queen-sized bed with walkable space on each side. Big windows provide great views, and the opportunity to rise with the sunrise!

Overall, the Gulf Stream Enlighten is practical, affordable, accommodating, and stylish. It’s everything a first-time RVer or no-frills adventurer needs from a rig with a price tag that won’t have you running for the hills!
