The first Overland Expo Mountain West kicked off Friday (August 27) at The Ranch Events Center in Loveland, Colorado. The event attracted thousands of overland enthusiasts, and nearly 300 vendors joined in offering products, reviews, classes, and demonstrations.

The term “overlanding” refers to self-reliant overland travel to remote destinations where the journey is the primary goal, according to Motortrend.com.

Interactive exhibits including some driving challenge areas allowed fans opportunities to learn and test their existing off-road driving skills in real-life applications. Vehicles on demo included EarthRoamer’s LTi and HD models, vehicles from Patriot Campers, the Honda Africa Twin, and an upgraded Toyota 4Runner, among many others.

Fans were able to experience the latest trucks and tires at the RAM Trucks and Kenda Tires Ride and Drives, too.

In addition to campers and customized RVs, the expo featured a variety of camping gear, clothing, vehicle parts, GPS units, two-wheeled options for overlanding and a variety of educational and informational seminars for all skill levels and ages of overlanders.

Additional upcoming events include Overland Expo West, September 24-26 in Flagstaff, AZ and Overland Expo East, October 8-10 in Arrington, VA.
