CURT Manufacturing yesterday announced the launch of its new PowerRide 30K fifth wheel hitch. The hitch enters the market as part of its product line of top quality fifth wheel hitches.

PowerRide equips truck with a professional-grade solution for fifth wheel towing. It is ideal for towing large RV trailers, campers, and other fifth wheel trailers. It features a 30,000-lb. fully tested rating. Other features include a cast head with multi-directional tilt, an easy-to-use self-resetting handle, enhanced portability, and no welding or fabricating required for installation.

The PowerRide fifth wheel hitch also boasts a 30K gross trailer weight rating and 7,500-lb. vertical load limit, for exceptional towing power. And with a cast steel main body, the PowerRide has  dependable strength.

The construction and technology of the PowerRide are what make it superior in its class. The hitch uses two interlocking jaws to fully wrap the kingpin for less chucking, and its cast yoke head tilts in multiple directions — not just forward and backward  — to promote a smooth ride. The self-resetting handle resets the jaws to the ready-to-couple position after uncoupling, saving an extra step in the hookup process.

For installation and removal, the PowerRide fifth wheel hitch is unique in that it has  a one-pin head removal system. The central pin is removable. This feature breaks it down into smaller, easier-to-lift pieces. To ensure long-lasting use, the fifth wheel head has a durable wear indicator which also contributes to smoother towing and eliminates the need for messy grease or a lube plate.

This new fifth wheel hitch from CURT also features strategically-placed grip points for a comfortable, confident hold when lifting. Additionally, the PowerRide is thoroughly tested to SAE J2638 specifications for safety.
