Union City, Indiana-based Workhorse Custom Chassis now offers a 190-inch wheelbase for its
W20 gasoline chassis. This adds another wheelbase option to the 208- and 228-inch
wheelbases available with the 20,700-pound gross-vehicle-weight-rated (gvwr) W20 chassis.
The 190-inch wheelbase was previously only available for Workhorse P Series chassis with
gvwrs of 14,800 to 18,000 pounds. Workhorse’s W Series chassis include the W20 and the
22,000-pound gvwr W22. Both couple the Allison 1000 Series transmission with GM’s Vortec
8100 engine. “It’s a winning combination of power, performance and best-in-class ride and
handling that now can be integrated into a midsized motorhome,” commented Tony Monda,
Workhorse director of motorhome marketing. “The heavier-duty chassis allows [RV]
manufacturers the capability to include upgraded amenities and provide more storage
capacity in a smaller floorplan,” Monda said.
