It’s getting more difficult to find a tow vehicle with a lot of interior room and seating for up to a dozen passengers. Nissan’s new NV full-sized Passenger Van is based upon the NV commercial van series, but with improved comfort, more seating and safety features. The NV3500HD comes in five trim levels: S and SV with either a V6 or V8 engine, or the SL with V8. Choose from a 261-horsepower 4.0-liter V6 engine or a 317-hp 5.6-liter V8. Both come with a five-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.
All versions have a multifunction console with a sliding table and lockable storage. Standard safety equipment includes ABS disc brakes, stability and traction controls, and numerous airbags for all seating rows. The second through fourth rows have split bench seats which are removable for added cargo space.
The basic S version has 17-inch wheels, cloth upholstery, air conditioning, and a CD player. The SV grade adds chrome trim, power windows and driver’s seat, cruise control, keyless entry, parking sensors and a security system. The optional Technology Package adds Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, sat radio and a GPS nav system with backup monitor.
Choose the top SL trim to add fog lights, heated front seats, leather upholstery, automatic climate control and Bluetooth wireless connectivity, along with front and rear parking sensors. A Tow Package is available with up to 8,700 pounds of towing capability.
