New Cruiser Sport fifth wheel an affordable toy hauler for active families

The new Cruiser Sport fifth wheel from CrossRoads RV provides an economical way to bring along some sporting fun as well as comfortable living accommodations.

The Cruiser Sport uses a versatile, two-inch receiver hitch with a 300-pound hitch capacity (tongue weight) that allows it to haul everything from multiple motorcycles to four-wheelers to 18-foot boats.

As such, the Cruiser Sport is a more affordable alternative to the common sport utility trailers with enclosed cargo areas. Inside it sleeps four to six people with a comfortable living area and roomy U-shaped dinette. It also offers a host of storage solutions, some where you might not expect them, such as drawers under the dinette seats.

CrossRoads developed the Cruiser Sport in response to consumer suggestions. It is designed for RVers 35 to 55 years old with active families. It allows tremendous versatility in terms of what they can bring along, be it a boat one time or dirt bikes another.

The Cruiser Sport also introduces CrossRoads’ new Equa-Flex™ Suspension by Trail Air that ensures a smoother ride, more stable towing and improved safety for towable RVs and their tow vehicles. On broken pavement at 55 mph, this suspension reduced G-force by as much as 89 percent (360Hz) at the trailer frame. With coach vibration minimized, the RV structure and its contents are better protected.

The Cruiser Sport maintains CrossRoads’ high quality standards with aluminum-framed sidewalls and endwalls. That quality is backed by a two plus five comprehensive warranty (two years against defects in materials and workmanship and a limited, five-year structural guarantee against floor, walls and roof defects), one of the best in the industry.

Popular options include sink covers, bi-fold range cover, rain sensor fans, upgrade insulation, main slide awning, chrome center caps, rear leveling jacks, and 15,000 BTU A/C. The sport enhancement package includes a black microwave, the two-inch receiver hitch, fiberglass front cap, 13,500 BTU A/C, black tank flush, and sunchaser patio awning.

“When you add up what you get in this lightweight package, you have a first-class example of the value and quality that CrossRoads RV strives for,” said Cal Jones, CrossRoads national sales and marketing manager. “This very ably fills a market niche of RVers looking for a pleasant way to get out and enjoy their toys without the kind of investment needed for other sport utility trailers.”

The Cruiser Sport is the sixth new product line developed by CrossRoads RV over the past three years, during which CrossRoads has been one of the fastest growing RV companies. Its ability to maintain high standards of quality construction while providing the features that RVers want have made its products best sellers.

Other CrossRoads towables include its popular mid-profile Cruiser and entry level Zinger, its entry level to high end lines of toy haulers, the CrossForce, CrossFire and CrossTerrain, the high-end Paradise Point, and its new ultra-lite, the Sunset Trail.

The manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the Cruiser Sport ranges from $27,370 to $28,007.
